First, let me introduce myself: My name is Erin Wright and while I'm relatively new to Eberwhite, I'm not new to teaching. This is my 13th year of teaching, though my background is quite varied. I was a literacy educator abroad through the Peace Corps for 2 years in the West Indies. I then taught 5th grade in Atlanta for 2 years while my husband was completing his Master's degree at Georgia Tech. When we moved back to Ann Arbor 10 years ago, I was hired by AAPS to teach high school! I hopped around a bit until I landed in my favorite spot: teaching upper elementary school. 5th grade is an exciting time and I'm thrilled to be your child's teacher! My motto is work hard, be kind and have fun. I have very high expectations for myself in terms of making sure your children are learning, feel safe, and enjoy coming to school. Please feel free to come to me with concerns, questions, or just to share your thoughts in whatever format is easiest for you: email, a phone call, or backpack mail.
More about me: I have a son named Tucker who is 6 and a daughter named Elsie who is 3. Tucker is in kindergarten at Eberwhite this year and Elsie attends the YMCA preschool. My husband is an aerospace engineer who designs race cars. I love reading, exercising, gardening and teaching! My family enjoys watching Michigan Football, riding our bikes around town and traveling.
