Math: The math program we use in Ann Arbor is Everyday Math. Here is some information from the Everyday Math website: "Everyday Mathematics is a comprehensive Pre-K through 6th grade mathematics curriculum developed by the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. Literacy: Ann Arbor Public Schools' literacy curriculum for 5th grade focuses on: reading for extended periods of time, making connections to text to extend meaning, reacting and reflecting on text verbally and in writing, using research tools, and spelling frequently encountered words correctly. Science: The Ann Arbor Public Schools has Science Companion as its district elementary science program. This is an inquiry-based program that engages students in hands-on science and the process skills used by scientists. In addition we will be piloting Project Lead the Way at Eberwhite and doing two very exciting units on robotics.
